history

Times change, but the story continues

January 30, 1937, Joseph Henry Savard and Simonne Desautels become owners of Studio Rivoli, black and white photographic lab located on Saint-Denis Street in Montreal. By 1945, they had moved their business at the Notre-Dame W. Address.

A few years later, Photo Service already employs around one hundred people by offering retail, repair, laboratory and photography school.

After the unexpected death of Joseph Henry in 1961, Simonne continue to manage the business with the help of her three children. The competition intensified, Photo Service focuses in the areas of retail, commercial and institutional.

During this period, Monique Savard, "Miss Savard," runs the business, and twenty years later, his brother Pierre-Henri Savard succeeded her. In 2000, Jean-Charles Savard, son of Pierre-Henri, begins the complete renewal of the store and introduced a digital mini-lab. His sister, Mireille Savard, will ensure the complete management of the lab.

Photo Service is a dynamic family business that favors the buying experience that only a specialist dealer can offer.

We draw our satisfaction to offer a practical and energizing expertise, whether for your professional development or personal passion in photography.

I stumbled across your store while visiting Montreal. When I walked in, I found a huge selection of gear at awesome prices. Picked up a Lowpro 450 Pro Runner BP, for $100 cheaper then any place I've found in Toronto. Thanks! I will be limiting most of my gear purchases to when I visit Montreal!! You WILL see me again!
